Photo is splendid man. Instead of a candle you could have used a fluorescent light source and the picture would have been a better one. Anyways good effort with social message. keep it up man, Bonjour ...!

i find it difficult to understand matters related to smoking.

1. a 'smoking is injurious to health' sign does not prevent people from smoking.

2. if the above does not work, then publicise the ill-effects of smoking. is it because of the huge taxes that are collected in it's name...

3. has the public lost it's mind. even when they know the ill-effects of smoking, they coninue with the same, what's with the will-power... women, they are more senstive to cigarette smoke. do we see stunted babies in the future. and yes, biotechnology is there to help us isn't it... at the cost of nature....

The pic is superb, followed by a noble message too...

I wonder how we can have a world where more than 50% of the individuals are free from addictions like smoking...creating awareness about its ill-effects may help prevent some individuals in rural areas from getting hooked on to it...but what about the so called "educated" and "literate" urban population where a majority of the men , including women have taken to smoking?
People should realise what a healthy world we could live in, if only they gave up chain smoking!!

Hi, this is a very good article. You could have included that it is not just the smokers but also passive smokers will end up suffering lung cancer.ail.com

Thoughtful picture and message, but the reality is, if the government doesn't takes concrete steps to curb or discourage smoking,India and many Asian cities will be the leading consumers of cigarettes. In Australia, there are strict measures which are in place to discourage the inconsiderate smoker.Smoking is banned in pubs, restaurants, casinos and offices.People cannot smoke within 50 mts of an entrance to a workplace(keeping in mind passive smokers).
All cigarette packs come with gruesome pictures of people suffering from lung disease, mouth cancers etc printed on it to put off smokers from buying smokes and realising the perils of smoking.
Equally shocking TV and print ads to give up smoking has been working.
All these strict measures have increased in the number of people giving up smoking by 13% in just one year.
Very soon, the western world(biggest consumer of cigarettes)will be smoke free or close to it,while we will be the biggest consumers and ultimately the highest suffering population with smoke-related diseases.
We need people like you to bring out the message more often to the public.Research has found that "shocking" smokers with pictures rather than just outlining the facts will put them off smoking.
Continue the good work and hope the politicians sit-up and take notice.
Well, and most importantly...smokers..learn to live life without the "stick",it is a "good" life!!!

Hello...i just chanced upon ur blog while surfing through the web....and cudnt prevent myself from making a comment...I agree that steps need to be taken, but the govt? wht else can they do? they pass a legislation to make smoking illegal on the screen and every one goes beserk, as for the idea of having gruesome pics, tht doesnot really help either.
For me as a teenager smoking started out of curiosity and i saw people around me (esp guys) being drawn to it coz they saw is somethng that made them Kool...and i thnk the ban on the screen wud hav played a small part in making smoking fashionable...
